A national community of Women of Colour.

Connecting, contributing and catalysing change. Free to join. Built by community, for community, with community.

What this is

A free national community where Women of Colour connect, contribute lived experience and co-create work that matters.

What it is for

All Women of Colour across Australia, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Wherever you are. Whatever stage you’re at.

Why it exists

Because Women of Colour have been asking how to stay connected. This is our answer.

Connect

Gather online with Women of Colour across sectors and regions. Share experiences. Build relationships that last beyond a single event.

Contribute

Help co-design WoCA’s research and advocacy. Your lived experience shapes the questions we ask and the evidence we build.

Catalyse

Watch community knowledge become a force for change in organisations, institutions and public life across Australia.

What membership feels like

The Collective is in its founding phase, growing with intention and shaped by the community itself. As it develops, members can look forward to:

  • Opportunities to gather online for conversation, storytelling and connection across sectors and regions
  • Coming together around International Women of Colour Day on March 1st
  • Invitations to co-design and contribute to WoCA’s national research, including the WoC in the Workplace Survey
  • Visibility of how collective insight informs WoCA’s public work, advocacy and engagement

"Black women have always marched first."

Frequently asked questions.

What is the WoCA Community Collective?

The WoCA Community Collective is a national community of Women of Colour across Australia — connecting, contributing and catalysing change. It is a free, open community grounded in co-creation, where members help shape WoCA’s research, advocacy and programs through their lived experience.

Who can join?

The Collective is open to all Women of Colour across Australia, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, across communities, industries, sectors and regions. If you identify as a Woman of Colour, you are welcome here.

Is it really free?

Yes. Membership is free and always will be. There are no fees, no tiers and no barriers to joining.

What can I expect as a member?

The Collective is in its founding phase, growing with intention and shaped by the community itself. As it develops, members can look forward to opportunities to gather online for conversation and connection, coming together around International Women of Colour Day on March 1st, and invitations to co-design and contribute to WoCA’s national research.

How is this different from WoCA's programs?

WoCA’s programs such as the Women of Colour Executive Leadership Program are structured, application-based leadership pathways. The Collective is open to all Women of Colour and focused on community connection, shared knowledge and collective contribution. The two complement each other. Collective members may go on to join WoCA’s programs.
